...gains. The yen firmed against the dollar early on Wednesday after Moody's raised its rating on Japan's foreign currency denominated debt citing a dramatic increase in Japan's foreign reserves. Looking ahead, the investors will be watching the release of U.S. weekly jobless claims this afternoon. The market forecasts 340,000 claims for the latest week in the report.
The Czech unit weakened against its main reference currency yesterday, pushed down by crown-selling orders from foreign investors. The crown was unmoved this morning after a release of a series of Czech economic data. Monthly inflation was up 0.1% in March, slightly below expectations for a 0.2% rise. Unemployment rate came in line with forecasts, at 10.7% in March. Industrial output jumped 7.1% y-o-y in February, beating expectations of a 6.2% increase.
